Help us to help you by....Telling us what you think We would love to hear about what you think about our new website. If you think we can make any improvements to it, let us know what your suggestions are in the section below. You may have views or comments in relation to some other aspect of the life of St James Church. Please tell us what you think.
Contrary to popular opinion, the Church is not awash with spare cash. The Church of England itself, whilst indeed owning a significant number of buildings, is a not for profit charitable organisation. On top of that, many of the buildings that it does own are either national monuments or worthless in terms of a resaleable value.
Take St James Daisy Hill for example. A grade II* listed building which is by far the largest single building in Daisy Hill. There is also significant land around it. Yet if the decision was taken to sell it, it would be very difficult because of St James listed status, and the practical reality that outside on all four sides of the church, are people buried in the ground. In reality the financial circumstances of St James are quite precarious, and we need your help. From its inception St James was a gift from the community, and we ask you to help us once again. This time we are seeking to provide facilities for the community of Daisy Hill and beyond. It's our Another Level project. We've created the space for the centre, by removing the old organ, purchasing a new organ to replace it. We are currently reworking the central heating system to provide for the new centre. If you can help us financially, or otherwise, please contact the Vicar.
